Municipal & School Board Elections

The next Township of North Stormont Municipal and School Board Election will be held on Monday, Oct. 26, 2026.  The Municipal Elections Act (MEA) is the legal framework that governs Municipal Elections in Ontario. The MEA outlines the procedures for the elections, such as nomination and voting processes, voter rights, and regulates fundraising functions and third-party advertisements. Voters will be able to cast their ballots through Internet or Telephone Voting. Advance voting will be available prior to Election Day on Oct. 26, 2026.

Elections Ontario is responsible for maintaining the Permanent Register of Electors for Ontario, commonly known as the Voters' List. To vote in an upcoming Municipal Election, you must be on the Voters' List.  Confirm, update or add your information through Election Ontario's RegisterToVoteON.ca. Your name must be on the Voters' List to cast a ballot.

Residents and property owners will be able to cast their vote in the Municipal and School Board Elections from anywhere with internet access or telephone service. This means eligible voters will have the ability to vote from the comfort of their own home or on the go.
