The Township of North Stormont’s municipal election is occurring on October 24, 2022.
In to be eligible to vote in the 2022 election, you must meet the following conditions:
- a Canadian citizen
- at least 18 years old
- a resident in the Township of North Stormont or a non-resident of North Stormont and you or your spouse own or rent property in the Township
- not otherwise prohibited under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 or by law
October 19 - October 24: Voting period for the North Stormont Municipal Election
October 24: Voting Day and preliminary election results announced.
October 25: Official Results announced.

- Vote by Internet
- Vote by Phone
As you prepare to vote by Internet or by Phone during the 2022 Municipal and School Board Elections, you will need your Voter Information Letter (VIL) which contains your confidential Personal Identification Number (PIN) along with the list of Candidates eligible to be elected. In addition, and as added security, you will be required to enter your date of birth (DOB).
You can either vote by Internet (anywhere / anytime) or by Phone (anywhere in North America). Your personal VIL provides the applicable website address or the applicable phone number that will enable you to vote.
As an option, and if you do not have access to the Internet, may we suggest you visit your local library branch or if needed, you can visit the municipal office / Voter Help Center.
The Voters' List is a list of people who are eligible to vote in the 2022 municipal election.
The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) provides a list of electors to the Township of North Stormont. This list is used to prepare the Voters' List for the Township. If your name is on the Voters' List, you will receive a Voter Instruction Letter in the mail with the voting days and voting locations. Bring your voter letter with you when you vote to make your voting experience easier and quicker.
The Township will be sending out all Voter Instruction Letters to eligible voters in late September 2022. Information will be posted on the Township site for those eligible voters who do not receive their letter prior to election day.
Every elector can check to make sure their information is up-to-date and accurately reflected by contacting the office at 613-984-2821 (extension 221).
- add an elector name to an address;
- confirm or update their electoral information;
- change school support for the purpose of voting in a school board election.
The Township has set up computers or a phone for residents to use during the voting period. The hours of the Voting Centre are as follows:

- Wednesday October 19th – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Thursday October 20th – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Friday October 21st – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Saturday October 22nd – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m
- Sunday October 23rd – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Monday October 24th – 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The SDG Libraries also have computers available for members of the public to use. The hours during the voting period are as follows:
