- Nomination Period: Friday, May 1, 2026 (8:30 am) to Friday, August 21, 2026 (2:00 pm)
- Third Party Registration: Monday, May 1, 2026 (8:30 am) to Friday, October 23, 2026 (4:30 pm)
- Deadline for Withdrawal of Nominations: Friday, August 21, 2026 (2:00 pm)
- Election Day: Monday, October 26, 2026 (voting ends at 8:00 pm)
To be eligible to register for a municipal election, you must be:
- 18 years of age or older;
- a Canadian citizen; and
- a resident of the municipality; or
- a non-resident who owns or rents property in the municipality; or
- the spouse of an owner or tenant of property in the municipality
Use Voter Registration to check, update, add or remove your voter information and/or property from the voters list. You will need to upload ID and/or property documentation. Alternatively, you can complete a paper application form.
You can be a resident in only one municipality or geographic area within Ontario without municipal organization unless you are a student.
If you or your spouse own or rent property other than your home address in Ontario, you may be eligible to vote in more than one municipal district social services administration and/or school board.
Please note that the property must be personally owned or rented by you or your spouse. For example, if the property is owned by your business, or your cottage is owned by a trust, then that property does not qualify you to vote in that municipality.
