Moose Creek, ON – The Township of North Stormont is pleased to congratulate Taylor Barker on the official grand opening of The Black Owl Bistro, located at 17071 McLean Road in Moose Creek.
Earlier today, North Stormont Mayor François Landry was joined by Eric Duncan, Member of Parliament for Stormont–Dundas–Glengarry, and North Stormont Councillors Alison McDonald and Adrian Bugelli for a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Taylor celebrated this milestone surrounded by family and staff.
The restaurant is closed to the public today for a private family celebration and will officially open its doors to the public tomorrow, Friday, May 22.
Taylor, who grew up in neighbouring Maxville, was raised in a family where food brought people together and cooking was a shared experience. He credits his mother, also a chef, for inspiring his passion for the culinary arts. After more than a decade of dedication and hard work in the industry, Taylor has achieved his dream of opening and operating his first restaurant.
The Black Owl Bistro offers a welcoming dining experience with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, as well as catering services for special occasions. The licensed establishment features a selection of beers on tap and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Guests can also enjoy expertly crafted espresso drinks, including lattes, along with breakfast options—perfect for early-morning commuters.
With patio season underway, visitors are invited to gather with friends and family in a relaxed outdoor setting, complete with ambient lighting for an enjoyable evening experience.
Taylor is also accepting bookings for catering and encourages early inquiries for holiday parties and special events.
