The Township of North Stormont has begun its annual gravel surfacing program this week, led by the Township’s Public Works Department.

Guided by the municipality’s road needs studies and long-term planning, public works crews are working to enhance and maintain the local road network. Each year, approximately 22,000 tonnes of gravel are applied to nearly 30 kilometres of Township roads as part of this program.

The gravel surfacing project is expected to take about two weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Motorists are reminded to reduce their speed, exercise caution, and move over where possible when approaching active work areas to ensure the safety of construction crews and fellow road users.

The Township thanks residents and visitors for their patience and cooperation during this essential road maintenance work.
