BERWICK, Ontario - On behalf of The Corporation of the Township of North Stormont, we kindly remind everyone that the Happy Face Child Care playground is part of a privately-operated facility and is not open for public use.
The playground is part of Happy Face Child Care's private, leased property at our North Stormont Township Hall.
Over the past several weeks, there have been repeated incidents of unauthorized entry into the playground yard. Unfortunately, this has resulted in damage to toys — many of which were generously donated — and even structural harm to the property.
Most recently, despite all gates being securely locked, individuals entered the premises, left toys scattered across the yard, and broke a piece off the shed, leaving exposed nails behind. This poses serious safety risks to the children and staff.
We ask for your cooperation in respecting the boundaries of this private space. The playground is intended solely for the use of the day care during operating hours. Continued trespassing may result in further security measures being taken.
