Township of North Stormont Receives $200,000 Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant for New Additional Accessible Playground Structure in Crysler
NORTH STORMONT, ON – The Township of North Stormont is pleased to announce it has been awarded a $200,000 Capital Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) to support the acquisition of a new accessible playground structure at the Crysler Community Centre.
The project, valued at more than $250,000, will expand the Township's existing inclusive playground with the addition of a new accessible play structure. Building on the playground's original vision of creating a safe, welcoming place for children of all ages and abilities to play, learn, and connect, the enhancement will serve families from across North Stormont while supporting one of the Township's fastest-growing communities.
The Township will contribute significant in-kind support to the project by providing excavation services and hauling aggregate for site preparation, helping maximize the value of the grant funding. In addition, the Crysler Community Centre has raised more than $50,000 through community fundraising efforts to help make the project a reality.

The entire playground has been designed with accessibility and inclusion at its core, ensuring children of varying ages and abilities can enjoy the space together. It has become a valuable recreational destination that encourages active lifestyles, social interaction, and community engagement.
The Township also recognizes the tremendous efforts of the Crysler Community Centre, whose volunteers and supporters have worked tirelessly to raise more than $50,000 toward the project. Their dedication, combined with the Ontario Trillium Foundation's investment and the Township's in-kind contributions, demonstrates the power of collaboration in creating lasting community assets.
Construction is expected to begin following final design approvals and procurement, with additional project details to be shared as they become available.
