NEW PARTNERSHIP: 2025 Household Hazardous Waste Days

BERWICK, Ontario - The Township of North Stormont has partnered with the Township of North Dundas and the City of Cornwall to provide hazardous waste disposal services. Residents are encouraged to take their household hazardous waste to one of the designated depots on the dates listed below.

There are no tipping or dumping fees for hazardous waste disposal. Residents must present valid identification to verify their residency in North Stormont.

City of Cornwall 
Hazardous Waste Depot 
2590 Cornwall Centre Road 
8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

 

Accepted materials
  • Paint: Latex & oil-based
  • Corrosive: Vehicle batteries, drain cleaners.
  • Flammable: Lighter fluid, turpentine, gasoline, used oil.
  • Toxic: Poisons, bleach, pesticides, paints, cleaning fluids, antifreeze, full or partially full aerosol cans.
  • Light bulbs: Fluorescent tubes, CFL ("curly" type), incandescent light bulbs, halogen bulbs, ballasts (non-pcb), etc. 
  • Other items: Oil filters, empty oil containers, reusable and single-use batteries (please keep separate).

Waste that is contained in glass jars or containers that are bigger than five gallon pails will NOT be accepted.
