SDG COUNTIES, Ontario - Warden-elect François Landry was elected to lead SDG Counties Council in 2026.
Landry, who is also the Mayor of the Township of North Stormont, was elected to the role by his peers during a special vote on Aug. 25. Every year in August SDG Counties councillors vote to elect one of their own as Warden.
Landry will be officially sworn-in during a ceremony this December. In the interim Landry will work side-by-side with Warden Martin Lang.
"I am looking forward to continuing to champion the priorities and projects established by our council," said Landry. "We will advance priorities like ensuring Highway 138 receives necessary upgrades to make it safer, and we want to make certain we are making prudent financial decisions that benefit our residents."
