Dog Tag Form

In accordance with By-Law No. 062-04, all dogs within the Township of North Stormont must be licensed each year. As a responsible pet owner please ensure your ‘best friend’ acquires a 2021 tag.
  • Each dog six months of age or older, which is sterilized - $20.00
  • Each dog six months of age or older, which is not sterilized - $25.00
  • Each service dog - N/A
  • Each replacement of a lost identification tag - $5.00
  • Kennel Licence- Breeders - $100.00
  • Lodging Kennel Licence – anyone operating a kennel for lodging of dogs other than their own - $150.00
  • Late application fee (excludes new residences and new dog) - $50.00
In order to complete your application please send a cheque payable to the Township of North Stormont for the fee amount to the Township Office by mail / drop off to 15 Union Street, PO Box 99, Berwick ON K0C 1G0. 

Please include a self-addressed and stamped envelope and we will gladly mail your tag directly to you.

  • Failure to obtain a dog licence for your dog(s) could result in the licence fee plus late charges being added to your final taxinstalment including a fine of $55 per dog.
     
  • No owner (excluding kennels) shall keep, in a rural area, more than 3 dogs over 20 weeks of age.
     
  • No owner in an urban area shall keep more than 2 dogs over 20 weeks of age. The fine for having too many dogs is $75.
     
  • The fine for being an owner who keeps a dog which disturbs the peace, runs at large and/or trespasses on private property is $75. An owner should always have their dog(s) under control at all times.
     
  • The fine for being an owner who fails to remove and dispose of dog feces from any public or private property is $45.
     
  • The fine for being an owner who permits a dog to bite or attack a person or another animal is $130.
