The primary goals of the Community Improvement Program

A visitor’s first impression of a community often begins with the streetscape. These initial experiences can influence whether someone chooses to return. Through thoughtful streetscape design and revitalization, both the Township of North Stormont and local businesses can shape how people perceive and engage with our communities.

Preserving key landscapes — such as the scenic South Nation River or historic buildings — helps showcase the township’s unique natural and cultural assets. At the same time, improving less desirable streetscapes and adopting a more cohesive design approach enhances how residents and visitors interact with the space.

By elevating the visual appeal of commercial properties in both settlement areas and rural parts of the township, we can foster a sense of community pride and inspire further beautification efforts. Investing in our streetscapes and improving accessibility is an investment in the local economy and in the shared North Stormont experience.

To support these goals, the township offers financial incentives to property owners and tenants to assist with eligible improvement projects.
